Read and colour

Blend the sounds shown by the letters. Say the word, then look at all three pictures. Colour inside just one matching picture, then press Submit. There is no separate picture-selection step. Any visible colour inside the picture counts, even a small mark; there is no required colour or percentage to fill.

Use Undo or Clear picture under a picture to change your marks. If you colour more than one picture, clear the extras before submitting. Choose Scroll page to swipe over pictures without drawing. Choose Draw to colour again. You can always scroll in the space around the pictures.

A correct Submit gives praise, a star and a short chime when sound is available. Press Next picture, or Finish colouring on the second word.

Keyboard: Tab to a picture. Arrow keys move the crayon. Space starts or stops drawing; Escape lifts it. Submit, crayons, Undo, Clear and navigation use Tab and Enter or Space.

This sample practises two familiar CVC words after the relevant consonants and short vowels have been taught. The three familiar pictures stay unlabelled. Neutral directions never read the target word before an answer. This is practice, not an independent-reading assessment or proof of mastery.

Full directions are requested on entry and Next. If your browser needs a tap, use the large Start / Hear directions button. If speech is unavailable, read the complete written directions with the child. Colouring, feedback and Submit never wait for speech to finish. Sound on/off also controls the reward chime. No microphone, learner account, checkout or saved learner scores are connected.
